Christmas Day in Papua

Christmas morning, the sun shines on my head as I woke up with my sleepy eyes. The mountains view in Papua is so beautiful.  I can see the beach below as the waves hit the rock bay. The horizon seems so peaceful and blue.

In Papua, we have a tradition to visit our friends who celebrate Christmas, to greet them Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday. In the afternoon, we came to Mr. Fernando’s house. It was a small house, but cozy and warm. We ate Bakso Sapi  and cookies, it was delicious. We introduce ourselves as a new employee in BPKP Jayapura. He has been working in BPKP Jayapura for 13 years, and is going to move to BPKP Medan in the early January. After that, we went to some senior’s house to greet them and have some cookies and tea.

Last, but not least, we arrived at Mrs. Elisa’s house. It was a “ruko”, three stories high. Her house was minimalist but elegant. She has a beautiful Christmas tree in the living room. We chat and ate again. Although our stomach is quite full, we just could not resist the temptation of “Ayam Bumbu” she had prepared for us. Cookies, pudding, and cakes are everywhere as we taste bit by bit, but eventually got full.

Christmas in Jayapura was fun. It was a unique and unforgettable experience. Still, I wish next Christmas, I can spend it with my families and friends.

Papua, First Week

It has been a week I have stayed at Jayapura. My friends and I are adjusting the habits and culture here. It is quite different from Jakarta. Usually in Jakarta, we never greet strangers, but here, we must say hello to strangers to show our respect to them.
Christmas is in 2 days. Children are running and playing firecracker. Christmas songs are sang almost everywhere. Houses decorated full of colorful lights. The atmosphere is different from Jakarta. This small city reminds me of a small city in California, Alhambra, although it is 180’ way different. Jayapura is a rough city; it is dangerous to out after 8pm. Many stories of murders are told, many drunken people often make problems, and also this is an endemic area of malaria.

This makes me wonder. Why would people risk their life to work and open a business here if this place was so dangerous? Is it because of money? If it is, then I start to think, is it worth it? Those risks I mention is exclude from airplane crash and sinking boats in means of transportation I must take every month. My job as an auditor needs to travel to cities around Jayapura to assist local government in their financial reports. Land transportation is not supported to travel to those cities.
I have only been here a week. There is nothing to worry, but be cautious is important. I have made my decision to start my career in BPKP at Jayapura. Whatever the risks are, I must face it like a man! There is a long way to go. May God be with me always.

Papua, Day 1

Setiba saya dirumah, rasa penasaran saya memuncak begitu dasyat!

Bonotto Delle Tezze Raboso Passito

Okay, this is the second wine I'll like to introduce.
I wanted to share my experience with all of you about Bonotto Delle Tezze Raboso Passito. The first time I heard about this wine, I can't even memorize the name right. Then, coincidencely, on Chinese's  New Year, the year of Dragon, my family had one of this black bottle of wine. When I carefully read it, it was BONOTTO DELLE! haha...

Bonotto Delle Tezze Raboso Passito

(Italian Very Sweet Red Wine)

About Raboso
This Passito is the jewel in the crown of winery Bonotto delle Tezze. Raboso produces deep coloured wines with notebly high tannin levels. The vines produce high yealds and are resilient to a number of disease.

Characteristics of the land
Located in theVeneto region of North East Italy, on the banks of the Piave river, the Raboso grapes benefits from the minerals washed down from the Dolomites. Harvest is around the last week of October. Total yield per 100 Kg is approxematly 15 – 16 liters.

Wine Composition
Alcohol:  14,5% by vol
Total Acidity:  9,6
PH:3.27
Residual Sugar: 15 gr per liter

Winemaking
Fermented with its skins and stalks for up to 5 months in stainless steel vats. Part of the juice is then aged in French oak and the  other part Slovenian oak for nearly 3 years. It is then bottled and allowed to age for a year.

 Tasting Notes
The high alcohol content and the balance between the high sugar levels and acidity creates a warm feeling of ripe wild cherries on the palate. It has hints of mint, violets, plum, chocolate as well as eucalyptus.

Serving Suggestions
Best served with dark chocolate, pasteries based on nuts as well as seasoned cheeses and Gorgonzola. Best left to breath for 30 minutes before serving. Serving temperature 14 – 16° C.

Khayangan Estate - Bali

The opportunity to be in Eka & Cathy’s Private Wedding was just “WOW”!  This is a once in a lifetime chance I was given. Unfortunately, I came there not to have fun and drink all night. I joined Multi Kreasi Enterprise and work as a wedding organizer. These are some pictures in Khayangan Estate which I took before the wedding start.

Sea view

This is my first time, working as a Wedding Organizer in such a big event. I was nervous, scared to make any mistake or clumsy actions. The wedding started in the evening hosted by MC Sarah Sehan, intertained by Soul Mate, Ridho Irama, etc. At 10 P.M. the wwedding was over, but continued by an “After Party” session. Here, guests can drink and dance all night. Even the WO was invited to join the party. I was so tempted to drink all night, beverages and drinks are free flow nonstop! Especially, you are in Bali! Suddenly my conscious pop out and remind me that I’m still working as a WO. I reconsider my thoughts and decided just to have a glass or two. Not too much, because after the party ended, I still got a job to do.

Cheers!

Team leader

In Bali, MKE didn’t have time to enjoy Bali. We work the whole day and night with little of rest. Although I’m very exhausted, I feel happy. It was a wonderful experience to participate MKE attending  Eka & Cathy’s wedding and “after party” all at once. Just beautiful!

Eka & Cathy Matrimony

Novotel
For the first time in my life, on April 12th, I went to Bali. It was 8 A.M. and I was sitting in the airport lobby waiting for my departure. I was very excited. To join Multi Kreasi Enterprise Wedding Organizer participating in Eka & Cathy wedding has never cross my mind. I met many friends in MKE with various characters and behavior. All of them are nice and friendly.

WO Team
In Bali, MKE stayed at Novotel and Grand Hyatt. The team was divided into groups so that we can work effective and efficiently. I was assigned in the “church” team. We coordinate with the local priest, altar services, and people in Fransiscus  Xaverius Church to give instruction and work together.

The holy matrimony mass was held in Fransicus Xaverius Church, Kuta in April 14th. The church is so beautiful. Decoration of flowers was everywhere. I was amazed!
Here are some photos of St. Fransicus Xaverius Church - Kuta.

After the Holy Matrimony

There was 5 bishops, 11 priests, and 9 altar boys attended, include Mgr. DR. Silvester - Denpasar’s Bishop. These pictures below are some preparation before the ceremony begin. Some of the altar boys are from Kuta, they are friendly and funny. Very nice people!!

The Holy Matrimony began at 10 A.M., crowded with families and friends from both Eka & Cathy side. Cathy is indeed beautiful with her white wedding dress. The atmosphere was just magnificent. Here are some shots taken by professionals during the Holy Matrimony.
